Patient Transport Fund

Spread across 126,188 square feet, Ashe Memorial Hospital provides services in more than a dozen departments, from Orthopedics and Oncology to Pediatrics and Physical Therapy. Our Emergency Department treated 11,917 patients last year, and 110 babies were born in the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center in 2023.

For many patients, wheelchairs are an essential tool in their visit to AMH. To assist patients, families and caregivers in navigating the breadth of our facility, we must provide a reliable solution for patient transport. As we proceed into the final quarter of 2024, we have prioritized the need to update our ageing fleet of wheelchairs.

Across ten different departments at AMH, we have identified a need for 21 wheelchairs. With a price tag of approximately $2,500 each, we are asking for your help. Your gift of any amount will make a difference! Donations can be restricted to a specific department or AMH physician practice if you wish. And a gift of $2,500 will purchase one chair entirely and can be labeled in honor or memory of someone special.
